Armadillidium badium ‘Casteldaccia’
A rare treat from the Casteldaccia region of Italy, this locale has a warm, reddish-brown base with faint striping that shows beautifully in naturalistic setups. Their slightly flatter body shape gives them a unique profile compared to other A. vulgare-type isopods. They’re a bit more on the dry-loving side, so give them good airflow, plenty of hides, and a moderate moisture gradient to keep them happy. If you like collecting region-specific varieties, this one’s a gem.
Care at a Glance:
- Temp: 18–25 °C (64–77 °F)
- Humidity: Lower to moderate with a dry/moist gradient
- Diet: Leaf litter, decaying wood, veggie scraps, supplemental protein, calcium
- Enclosure: Well-ventilated with natural hides and some dry zones
Pack includes 12+ mixed-size isopods
