Armadillidium granulatum
With its bumpy, textured shell and bold yellow spots set against a deep, dark body, A. granulatum looks like it crawled straight out of the prehistoric era. Native to parts of southern Europe, this hardy species adds instant contrast and character to any collection. They prefer moderate humidity with good airflow, plus a defined dry side in the enclosure. While they breed a little slower than some, they more than make up for it with their unique look and long-term reliability — a real treat for dedicated keepers.
