A clean-water alternative to alder cones—minimal staining, lots of texture for microfauna, and gentle tannins. Perfect sprinkled through leaf litter or added to shrimp/nano tanks for extra grazing surface.

• Great for: isopod bins, springtail cultures, bioactive terrariums, shrimp/nano tanks
• Benefits: microfauna/biofilm grazing surface, mild tannins, less staining than alder cones
• How to use: Rinse first. For aquariums, pre-soak or briefly boil so they sink; start with a few and add to taste.
